Are You The Pursuer or the Distancer in Your Relationship?

Image
Do you ever find yourself longing for your partner, wishing you could feel more connected, even when you’re both in the same place? Or, have you ever caught yourself fantasizing about taking a break from your relationship, wishing you could just slip away for a while? In most relationships, one partner has more desire for closeness, while the other has more need for distance. If you are part of a couple, here’s an interesting question to ask yourself. Which one are you? Do you want your relationship to be closer?  Or, do you feel that your partner is too close for comfort? If it’s you who wants more closeness, how do you go about trying to get it?  If you’d prefer some distance, how do you try to create more separation?  Finally, and most importantly, are these methods working for you? Most couples experience a kind of push and pull that forces a certain degree of space between them. By this, I don’t mean a good kind of space, li...

Why Generosity is Good for You

Image
Generosity is no longer the selfless act we’ve long thought it to be. Studies now suggest that one of the biggest benefactors of generosity is the person who is dishing it out. Like a healthy diet, exercise, and good genes, generosity may increase your life span. A 2003 research study at the University of Michigan reveals that the positive effects of generosity include improving one’s mental and physical health and promoting longevity. In another Michigan study, which traced 2,700 people over 10 years, researchers found that men who did regular volunteer work had death rates 2.5 times lower than men who didn’t. Generosity can help reduce stress, support one’s physical health and enhance one’s sense of purpose. So what is it about generosity that makes it so vital to a happy and healthy life? First, it’s important to note that the form of generosity that most benefits us isn’t measured in a dollar amount or a physical gain. What matters is the ...

Supporting Children on Their Path

Image
While bearing our own suffering is bad enough, watching our children struggle can be almost unbearable! It’s natural to want to avoid things that are uncomfortable and unpleasant, and especially to protect our children from experiencing them.  And clearly, suffering for extended periods of time is unacceptable. But the truth is, life is not without physical and emotional suffering. From the moment our children are born, they need to breathe on their own and communicate their distress. And part of our job as parents is to help them contend with this distress so they can learn to take care of themselves. Learning about negative feelings and their meaning helps our children attend to critical information so they can effectively navigate through their lives. In this day and age, there are infinite ways for our kids to attempt to avoid and escape negative emotions and discomfort.  They have quick access to distraction and sources of entertainment in the palm of their ...

To Love is a Beautiful thing

True Love: What Love Is and What It Is Not The topic of true love has been debated for centuries.  Cynics often swear it doesn’t exist, while hopeless romantics think everyone should set out to find their soulmates.  With science now showing that true love is not only possible, but can actually last a lifetime, we’ve decided to look at the psychological elements that allow love to bloom or fade. Let’s start by defining what true love really is: What is True Love? Dr. Lisa Firestone, co-author of Sex and Love in Intimate Relationships, often says that the best way to think of love is as a verb. Love is dynamic and requires action to thrive. As Dr. Firestone wrote, “Often, we spend our time worrying about what our partner feels toward us or how the relationship looks from the outside. Even though it feels good to be loved by someone else, each one of us can only really feel our loving feelings for another person and...

Overcoming Lost Love

There is probably no topic which has captivated people throughout the centuries and from most every culture than the topic of love. We put a man on the moon, broke the speed of sound, and mapped the human genome, but love remains a complete mystery. Science has not been able to explain it. Mathematics cannot predict it. Poets still wrestle with adequate words to describe it. It may have been more than two centuries ago, but Plato’s words have never sounded more true, “Every heart sings a song, incomplete.” We are all looking for love. At any given moment, we may be far from it but we never stop hoping the next opportunity is just over on the horizon. We are all looking for true love. One of our frustrations with love is our complete inability to keep it. Like sand slipping between our fingers, the harder we grasp the faster it seems to fall through. It would be nice if love was as simple as baking a batch of cookies or building a bird house fo...

Attitude Vs Comfort zone

Are You Stuck In Your Comfort Zone Attitude Versus Comfort Zone Since the great majority of us already know what attitude is, let's talk about comfort zone: Comfort zone is the mental place surrounded by borders in our mind where we feel secure. Even though this comfort area and its boundaries are just a state of mind that has nothing to do with reality, it plays a huge roll in the progress of our development. Since the comfort zone is limited, there is not much benefit for you inside your comfort zone, but what you already are and have. Nothing new will happen until you open yourself and leave your comfort zone. As long as you still are having the same beliefs, you cannot grow and you cannot expect new things in your life. When you change your beliefs you will change your thoughts, feelings and actions and then, and only then you can expand and grow in all aspects of your life. Understand your comfort zone SuperV cares...

Who you are

Even though your background may be affecting your present situation, what really matters is not where you were born, your skin color, race, age, gender, religion, government, or even the poor environment in which you have been living for so many years, but what really matters and makes a big difference in your life is your attitude, to understand your comfort zone, how you limit yourself within it, who you are, why you behave the way you do it, and mainly where you are going. Sadly many people don't go anywhere because they stay within their comfort zone. They accept defeat after defeat before even trying or knowing how capable or valuable they really are. These circumstances are not the cause of our actual situation but the conformism and the poverty of our thoughts and therefore the weakness of our broken spirit. Leave your past behind; constantly transcend your comfort zone! Your past within this comfort zone is nothing but a wasted load that you don't need to carry, at all...

Christmas is here again!

Image
Three Simple Words What does God want from you this year at Christmas time? Justice … Mercy … Humility. Rightly understood, those three words form the sum total of your Christian duty. If you have those things, God will be pleased. If you don’t, nothing else makes much difference. That brings us back to Micah. Why didn’t God accept all their sacrifices? Why did he turn them down? Because they offered him everything except the one thing he really wanted—their hearts. The religion God approves is the religion of the heart! Outward religion is useless unless the heart belongs to God. He wants the real you—the person on the inside. You can fake a lot of religious activity. But the heart doesn’t lie. Why Jesus Came What does God want from me at Christmastime (and every other day as well)? Justice … Mercy … Humility. These are matters of the heart. This is why Jesus Came. Matthew 12:18 says, “He will proclaim justice to the nat...

Story of a Little boy and his family

I was walking around in a Big Bazar store doing a shopping, when I saw a Cashier talking to a boy couldn’t have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, “I’m sorry, but you don’t have enough money to buy this doll.” Then the little boy turned to me and asked, “Uncle, are you sure I don’t have enough money?” I counted his cash and replied, “You know that you don’t have enough money to buy the doll, my dear.” The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. “It’s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much . I wanted to Gift her for her Birthday. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.” His eyes were so sad while saying this. “My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she c...

Learn to Appreciate

Image
Once upon a time, there was a man who was very helpful, kindhearted, and generous. He was a man who will help someone without asking anything to pay him back. He will help someone because he wants to and he loves to. One day while walking into a dusty road, this man saw a purse, so he picked it up and noticed that the purse was empty. Suddenly a woman with a policeman shows up and gets him arrested. The woman kept on asking where did he hide her money but the man replied, “It was empty when I found it, Mam.” The woman yelled at him, “Please give it back, It’s for my son’s school fees.” The man noticed that the woman really felt sad, so he handed all his money. He could say that the woman was a single mother. The man said, “Take these, sorry for the inconvenience.” The woman left and policeman held he man for further questioning. The woman was very happy but when she counted her money later on, it was doubled, she was shocked. One day whi...

Heart of Gratitude

Image
The world of abundance. We all dream of it. I guess that's the unifying characteristic of human race - imaging the perfect system in which each and every one of us is cared for in every possible way. And if some of don't dream it for everyone, all of us dream it for ourselves. Having everything we would ever need; not worrying about money and time, oblivious of problems. Yet, so many of us already live in a world of abundance. We have all these opportunities, knowledge and resources. Just when confronted with choice, fraction of us will turn it into a new value; majority of us will turn it into a baggage. With more weight on our shoulders we become burdened, and when you are burdened apathy and depression are not far away. Instead of focusing on obtaining, focus more on reflecting. Try to find silver lining in everything. Don't be a runner who after finishing 5K is upset about not yet being able to to run 10K. Appreciate and celebrate every achievement you consciously com...

What's your EMOTIONS doing to you?

Image
ARE YOU HAVING AN EMOTIONAL AFFAIR? If anybody asks you this question, you may go angry or livid because it sounds so insulting. Why? You are never the type of person that would have an affair outside your relationship/marriage. Well, that is because you do not know what an emotional affair is. Emotional affair does not involve sex. It happens to people who are in courtship or engaged or married but very fond of somebody else who is not their spouse but if care is not taken and brake applied, it can lead to full blown sexual affair. Emotional affair does not only happen to people in bad, unhappy marriages. It can happen to happy couples, morally sound people and deeply spiritual individuals who love God with all their hearts and hate sin. It can even happen to great religious men and women . How then do they fall into emotional affair? Emotional affair is not easy to detect at the beginning. It all starts as plain, platonic friendship with the opposite sex whom you exchange ideas w...

Christians in Russia in big trouble?

Image
END TIME: Russia has banned any form of religion soon it will be universal Troubling times for the Church in Russia as the State tries to seal loopholes for anyone to meet Christ.   A new law has been signed this week by President Putin stating that:   1) Foreign guests are not permitted to speak in churches unless they have a "work permit" from Russian authorities  2) If a friend or relative from outside Russia wishes to share his/her faith in your home the guest will be fined and expelled from Russia.  3) Any discussion of God with non-believers is considered missionary activity and will be punishable.  4) Missionary activity will be permitted by special government permission. Example: If one travelling on a train shares his faith without written permission, the offender will be taken into police custody for the duration of the journey and will be fined 50,000 rubles ($1,000).  Offenders from the age of 14-years-old will be subject to prosecution  5)...

Take time to answer these questions

Image
What if one day, the one you trust, the one you love, the one who you think will be the last person will do you wrong, will be the first.. What will you feel? Disappointment.. for trusting too much. Hatred.. for making a fool out of you. Heartaches.. for loving him/her still despite everything that he/she do. Acceptance and forgiveness.. for the sake of your so called relationship. What will you do? Would you try to understand? Try to make things right? Or simply let go.. How hard it will take, for you to understand? For you to heal? Days? Weeks? Months? Years? Days, full of doubt Weeks, full of pain Months, full of issues Years, full of insecurities Will doubt fade away when he/shes not with you? Will pain fade away when you learn to trust again? Will issues fade away when you ask stupid/lame questions? Will insecurities fade away, if you already knew your not the only one? If you choose to let go, will you be happy? Or it will just gives you countless questio...

Your Conscience

It's safe to say I don't know who or what God is. However, I am certain there is something greater. Some claim to have talked to God or vise versa. Some say he commanded them to do his bidding. I doubt that a man who blocked their own conscience could possibly have listened to God. Maybe my reasoning is no better than billions of others, but consider this... Many say God is everywhere...then...could everywhere be God? Suppose this is so. I would have to guess then that God has a sort of super infinite awareness (not fathomable to any one of us). I could also surmise that each of us knows some small facet of God. And logically, if we have spoken to others then maybe we all have talked to God and vise versa. This might be a heady conclusion for the ego. Therein lies the problem. Some egos don't listen to their conscience. I define conscience as our subconscious connection to a higher awareness - that we are all connected. It knows that what we do to the least of others we d...

Extent of FAITH

For leading a happy life one needs faith in God. Having faith in God means being tension free. It is difficult but not impossible. You need first to be friendly with God. How can we be friendly with God? By sharing everything in heart like a baby sharing his everything with his mom. He shows his hunger by crying, happiness by laughing. Life shows every type of time. Good and bad, short and long, illness and healthy days. Everything is happening in God's consent and everything happens for our betterment. Always trust Him and never complain. He is our father, well wisher and He is the only one who loves us selflessly. You can give many names to the FAITH in God. Some people believe everything good will happen with them because God is with them. Some people accept their life as it comes because they believe whatever is happening with them is for theirr good by God's grace. Some belive that God never disappoints them, He fullfills their all desires. Some take risks with the faith...

Don't QUIT for anything

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit- Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a person turns about When they might have won had they stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow- You may succeed with another blow. Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor's cup; And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out- So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worst that you must not quit. Beat the best and be the BEST... #SuperV Peaceful Night rest
